Comment One: Michaela Shales – Gender Sexualisation in Games

COMMENT: Hey Michaela, this was such an amazing video and blog post! This is such an important topic to discuss and bring attention too and you have done it in the best way! Honestly, I agree with you when you say that you have no interest in playing games, and its good that you have decided to change your idea and do something you find more investing, I did the exact same, but I went from writing blog posts to creating youtube videos! There are so many ways to make blogs engaging and trust me! I love your blogs!

REFLECTION:

Michael’s Digital artefact is based on the topic of gender sexualisation within games, Michael changed her idea from playing the game ‘episode’ and post a youth video about her experience of playing the game itself and just like myself she was un motivated to continue with her original idea and did not like just playing the game and then posting the video. She changed her Idea from posting videos to writing blog posts. In Michaela’s case I believe this change was very good for her digital artefact, due to the fact that she is able to stick to the same analytical framework and topic of her digital artefact, but instead of just doing the work she needs to do, she is actually enjoying the works, I believe that there is a difference between just doing something and enjoying it and Michaela has perfectly showcases this. 

Michael does not have audience yet within her Digital artefact, however, her topic is one that is not discussed frequently and I believe that her audience will be very engaged as she is bringing up a topic that people are too ‘scared’ to discuss. 

Within my comment on Michaela’s Digital artefact I express my own change within my Digital artefact and how she is better off doing something she enjoys and I also state how I also do not have any interest in playing games.

I love you beta! Your videos are filled with so my energy and happiness! I literally loved watching this video!  I felt the exact same due to the fact that I struggled with losing motivation as well! I had to change my DA and what I was doing with in it too! Honestly I feel as though your change is for the better, you seem so keen to continue with this new idea! Congratulations and Goodluck! 

I love how you are wanting to play the game and also pay with friends as well!!, I have recently been watching different Youtubers such as Ninja, and KSI do this exact idea too! I would definitely check them out!

REFLECTION:

Amy’s Beta video and blog surrounded by positive energies and excitement!, she changed her original idea to going live and streaming her and her friends playing the game ‘Among Us’, Amy seems very interested within her topic, and as I stated with my comment she has done a lot of research to back up her topic and her analytical framework! Amy has allowed her digital Artefct to be based around a game that is highly popular at the moment and she has also allowed for her digital artefact to be opened to a live audience as she is incorporating streaming and her friends.

Within my comment I state how I also lost motivation within this semester to continue with my original idea, and just like Amy I was able to find an idea in which I am interested in and I am finally motivated to continue working on it! I also provide Amy with two youtubers who basically post the same videos in which Amy is intending to create, she has such a brilliant idea! 

 Comment Three: Lydia McGahey – Positive Effects Games have on Children Development

COMMENT: Hey Lydia! Well one! I love how you we’re able to choose two different games within your analysis and to discuss the positive impact those games can have on a Childs development, your Beta truely showed that you have done large amounts of research with your topic and you analytical framework! I tried to do a lot of research but I was so unmotivated, so well done!  I love how you are wanting to keep doing blog posts, as they are such a great way to get your message and ideas across! REFLECTION:

Lydias Beta Video was based on how she wants to narrow her Digital Artefact to focus on two particular games and discuss the positive effects that these two games have on a Childs development. Lydia states how she wants to express the positive impacts of games on a Childs development as most reviews or games express the negative effects that ti can have on an Childs development. 

Within my comment I express how her idea of being able to choose two different games and being able to discuss them in depth of how they impact a Childs development is amazing! And also my comments expresses how she has been able to back up her entire digital artefact with research! Lydia has truely found a topic in which she is passionate about! I also discuss how I, myself have been unmotivated to continue with research around my topic, however watching her video and reading her blog has motivated me to do more!
