1. Digital Artefact? yeah I don’t know what it is either.

week 1

This week within BCM112, we discussed our Digital Artefacts and here is my first attempt to try and explain it to the public.

Well here is it, my font page of my digital Artefact, well really it was just a waste of time making this, but hey, at least I started it. So, before I ramble on about what My digital Artefact is, I’ll give a short definition of what it really is; A digital artefact is any type of item produced and stored as digital/electronic version. Examples of digital artefacts include digital documents, presentations, programmes and codes, video and audio files, images and photographs and the like. I hope you understood it because I’m still confused.

As you have probably gathered, I have a passion and love for photography, so why not do a digital artefact surrounding photography? I am focusing my digital artefact around different media’s such as; Instagram, YouTube, Facebook, twitter and Blog post on word press. I am wanting to express different photos, different aspects of life, different concepts of ……well, everything I guess. I am aiming for my digital artefact to allow for an audience to imagine that moment in time, to feel that emotion, to hear the images and to dictate their own story through my very own photographs.

I want my digital artefact to express my online persona through images, of basically everything. I have already began a photography page; follow it! @pierroperspective and I am going to continue it within my digital artefact, however change the themes through the page and change up my captions. I am also wanting to begin a YouTube channel where I can post drone videos, and well videos of anything, basically, I am wanting my Youtube channel to explain the process of the photographs being produced within the photography page. Within twitter, I will be using it to keep my audience updated with new Instagram post, YouTube videos and blog posts. I am incorporating facebook to mirror my Instagram account to reach those of different age groups and to those who don’t normally use Instagram or YouTube. My blog post’s will be telling the stories behind each image I post, within every photo I post on Instagram and every video I post on YouTube, I will be explaining its story throughout my blog.

Let’s be real for one moment, this is my one and only idea so far, so if I end up changing, then I am sorry, but let’s hope not.

2. I think I’m going to change my DA……

Okay well I need help, I can’t decide what to do for my digital artefact, at first I had my set in stone Idea, which i spoke about in my last BCM112 blog and now I have this new Idea, but I don’t know which one to stay with…..

Idea one:

• Instagram: showcasing my photography and editing skills
• Using my pre-made Instagram account and trying to reach a wider audience
• Drone videos and editing videos to go along with the instagram account
• Blog posts: based off of each photo I post – write my own little story

Idea two:

• Humans of Wollongong: go out and find random strangers, take a photo and ask for their story of a quote, keep their names anonymous
• Post the photos on a Instagram account with the story or quote
• still showcases my photography skills
• put together a book? – with just photos with their story or quote

OR

I just do both ideas and see which one is more popular?…….. and if they both succeed continue with both?
